Taking pictures is one of my favorite things to do. I am by no means a great photographer at all. But I love taking pictures anyways, just to capture all of life’s moments. And since I’m no professional, I look for camera’s that can help me take amazing photographs. Casio’s high speed Exilim digital camera does just that.
I can’t even tell you how thrilled I was to get a chance to review Casio’s Exilim EX-S5 digital camera. When it first arrived, right off the bat, I was amazed at how slim and compact the camera is. The color was awesome too, blue. The LCD screen was larger than my previous camera and there were a lot less buttons. My previous camera had a turn button on the back to change the settings to night, scenery, movie, etc. I was constantly accidently turning the button and it would change the setting and of course, I wouldn’t notice until after I took the picture. This camera (thankfully) does not have that. Instead it has normal buttons to change the settings. Some camera’s I think take a while to figure everything out and get adjusted to how it works, but I found this camera to be rather simple. Probably due to the fact that there were fewer buttons, but the functions were all there.
I have used this camera just about every day since I got it. I brought it with me when I recently went out with a group of girlfriends and they were all impressed with its high speed. Meaning, we didn’t have to wait for forty flashes before it took the picture. It takes the picture in exceptional speed. My two favorite functions is the face detection and Best Shot mode. Best Shot mode allows you to take the best quality picture possible in certain settings (23) such as scenery, portrait, food, sports, flowers, sundown, etc. I am really happy with the way my pictures have turned out using these settings.
Here is a picture of fireworks that I took friday night, July 3rd at around 8:30pm est. This was done using the fireworks setting under the Best Shot mode.
This next one is a picture I took using the sports setting under the Best Shot mode.

I am very happy with this camera overall. I can’t think of anything I would change about it. It fits nicely in my purse and more importantly in my clutch. And the picture quality is truly wonderful.

I really need this camera because I want to take pictures that I can put on my computer.
This would be wonderful! My camera is about 7 years old now and although it works, it's quite large and clunky.

I don't need a new camera, but my 7 year old son, has be bugging us to get him his own camera. See he has 2 teenage sisters, that are always taking pics and putting them on facebook, and he thinks if he has a camera, he will be better at taking pics then them, and they always say "prove it" and he can't because he doesn't have a camera

My current camera was purchased in 2004, it's huge and takes horrible pictures.

I broke my camera and would love to have a new one!
I need a new camera. My camera is an older model and changes it's settings at it's own free will. Sometimes the flash works, but not when I really need it. I can only review some of the pictures some of the time. That's very annoying!
I think it is time for me to quit buying the disposable cameras.

This would be such a wonderful gift for my pregnant daughter who was a photography major and is due with a baby in a few days. She could take loads of pictures of her new little man!

I know this may sound cheesy but it's true. My husband and I have taken in a single mother of three. She is hard working and never misses a day. She even walks to work in the rain or snow if needed. She makes about $600 a month. She does not have a camera to capture any of her kids activities. I have an old Camera that does not use the new updated memory cards. I have tried to capture some of the activities myself but I don't have much memory as we are low income also. We are doing what we can. Once she is able to move out she will be left with nothing again. I ask for this prize not for myself but for this mom. She deserves something special to help her keep her memories close to her heart.
Now, that camera is something I can really use. My daughter dropped mine, and it just hasn't been the same since!
