O Say Can You See….

Miss Blondie is back from D.C. We officially flew back in last night around 6:30pm. And what an amazing time we had! So, right off the bat i have finally decided on a name to refer to my new man as on my blog. Its about damn time too! He’ll be known as Mr. Bear…because he’s my teddy bear!! Hehe! Anyways, we’ll just get to the good stuff. We flew out on thursday afternoon and i haven’t been on a plane in seven years, so my anxiety level was threw the roof. But the flight was fine, a little windy on the landing, but i made it. We were floored by our rental car…it was a cute little sportscar. Let me tell you about our hotel. We stayed at the Washington Court Hotel right by the Capitol in a King Suite room. The room and hotel were amazing. I’m talking big bucks. But thanks to Hotwire it only cost us $89 a night….can you say steal?? If you haven’t used Hotwire before, oh man i highly recomment it…so worth it. They put us up in a King Suite room at a 4 star hotel!! C’mon people thats a deal and a half! Once we settled in we drove around the capitol, went to Georgetown and ended up at Dupont Circle for dinner.

Friday morning we were up at 7:30…that is the crack-ass of dawn when you are on vacation i might add. We saw soo much on friday. We did the monument, the memorials, the white house, and the smithsonians. And what would a trip be without a memorable “blonde” moment. Are you ready for this? Its actually quite embarrassing to tell you all that this really came out of my mouth but here goes. Mr. Bear and i are walking up to the white house and i say, “Ohmigod, look its so white!!” The look he gave me said it all. And i proceeded with, “I know its a white house, but its really white. Like bleach white.” Okay, so i know I may sound dumb, but really it looked bleached…i mean it was in between two white buildings and it was much whiter. I guess i was just surprised. So, after dinner friday we met up with a college friend of Mr. Bear who lives in Arlington and went out for drinks.

So Saturday was Valentines Day and we got up just as early. I got breakfast in bed from my man and got right to the sightseeing afterwards. We did Madame Toussad’s Wax Museum…which was soo much fun, the zoo (highly recommend), and Fords Theater. Mr. Bears friend was able to pull some strings and get us a last-minute reservation at Old Ebbets Grill for dinner which was incredible. Its nice to know peeps with connections. And he told me that he loved me that night. *Cue the awwws*

And yesterday we did all of Arlington National Cemetery before our flight. We saw the changing of the guards and a ceremonial wreath placing at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We were able to cram so much sight-seeing during our trip and still didn’t see everything. What we didn’t realize until late on saturday was that this was Lincoln’s 200th birthday so the places were mobbed during the weekend, so we were lucky we did most stuff on friday because it wasn’t busy at all then.

So now for the juicy stuff. I’ve already told you that he said “I love you.” which of course i said it back…how could i not! The man is perfect! For the whole four days we were together, i never once got sick of him or anything. That is highly unusual for me. I usually need my “alone” time at some point but i didn’t feel like that with him. I can honestly say i felt like i was on vacation with one of my friends…thats how well we got along. Sure we had a couple little disagreements but i can’t stay mad at him for long and he wants to make up immediately. So, i like the way he fights…thats important. We both wanted to see the same sites and do the same toursty things…it was great! Everything from start to finish of this trip worked in our favor, no glitches! So all in all, my first time at our Nations Capitol was a success!!
